Sites of Horror

Here we go again, Black Glove devotees, with another installment of Sites of Horror, a section which we devote to giving you a heads up on some of the many web sites around the world that we think our Horrorhead friends might enjoy.

First up:

Brian Hodge is still one of my favorite authors, a hugely talented craftsman and a really decent guy. On top of that, Brian also happens to be a fellow martial artist and studies the same discipline I've been hurting myself in for years: Krav Maga. But he's a peaceful sort, despite having some deadly skills, and his new blog site is an extension of his craft and life philosophy. So if you want to read some great posts from a guy who knows what he's talking about when it comes to making a living as a writer and walking the peaceful path, stop by his WARRIOR POET blog and enjoy.

Next up:

Something I'm seeing more and more of online are women who dig horror and aren't afraid to play with the big boys. See, horror has sort of become a boy's club in many respects (ask any female horror writer about their trials and tribulations in dealing with the horror fiction publishing industry and you are certain to hear some pretty hairy stories about accepted, entrenched sexism and prejudice), but modern women aren't sitting still for it any longer. Hell, no!
And now we have SCARED SHIRTLESS: 2 CHICKS WHO DIG HORROR MOVIES. a website devoted to a two intelligent, fun-loving women and their humorous look at modern horror.

And last, but not least:

Another great horror review site, but this one has some bite. Seems as if the editor tends to watch movies that really stink. Or at least that's his summation of about 99% of the movies he reviews. I can't say I agree with most of what he bitches about, but I do find his caustic remarks hilarious--and maybe even a little true, here and there. So if you're in the mood for some cutting horror humor, stop by POPCORN PICTURES and get a taste.

And there we have it for another month.
